The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Review
It's been five years since Bethesda has rolled out a proper Elder Scrolls title. Sure, Oblivion got a couple of expansion packs in 2006 and 2007, but hardcore fans have been defacing the internet with their impatience for years. Luckily, the folks over at Bethesda have finally slapped the shrink wrap on the fifth installment of the Elder Scrolls franchise, and I got a chance to sit down and play.

A month or two ago, if you had asked me if the Wii was dead in the water, I would have said "absolutely." Sure, the Wii still has titles that are solid in experience and execution, but there's nothing new coming out that would scream at consumers to go out and buy the console this close to the end of its lifespan. I even had my doubts about the raw power of Skyward Sword over jaded "hardcore" gamers. Then again, it's a brand new Zelda title, and if there is anything in the world that can sell a system, it is a Zelda title.

Mario has finally made his way to the 3DS, and the big boys of Nintendo are hoping their mascot can push the steadily climbing sales of the portable to loftier heights. Historical retail records and name recognition will likely give profits a good push, but the big question for gamers is whether they will be happy with their purchase of the portly plumber's latest adventure.
