New Computer? GREAT!

How Will You Transfer Files and Programs Over From Your Old One?

A Transfer Cable, You Say?

OK - But Transfer Cables ONLY Transfer Files!

What About ALL of Those EXPENSIVE Software Programs?

What's The Matter? Why Are You Freaking Out?!

We've Got EXACTLY What You Need!

LAPLINK TO THE RESCUE!

Move EVERYTHING Over to Your New PC: Files AND Software Programs!

UNBELIEVABLY EASY TO USE!

Save Yourself HOURS - Even DAYS of Hassles - and a TON of Money!

Works With WHATEVER YOU'VE GOT - XP, Vista, Windows...

Can You Push a Button? THEN YOU CAN DO THIS!

A Frightening Little Story...

Bill just got a new computer. He's SUPER excited, and can't wait to get it booted up. Slamming the door behind him and throwing his keys on the table, he rushes to the living room and starts to unbox that shiny new PC.

In walks his roommate, Fred. Fred knows a thing or two about computers and has no problem giving Bill advice - even though he can be quite smug about sharing his knowledge...

"Hey Fred! Check it out - I FINALLY got a new computer!" Bill says, eagerly awaiting approval from his nerdy roommate. "It's SO much better than my last one. I can't WAIT to get everything transferred over from that old piece of junk!"

"Well Bill" Fred says in a smug, all knowing voice, "that's a nice idea and all, but how are you going to transfer everything over just using that old transfer cable of yours?"

With his face starting to redden, Bill stammers "Wait...wha-what do you mean how? I've got that cable thingy...it'll do the trick, right Fred? RIGHT?"

"Wrong!" Fred laughs. "That thing'll only transfer over your files. What about all of that expensive software you've invested so much money in, Bill? What about that? How do you think you'll get that transferred over?"

...SILENCE...

After letting Bill suffer in silence for a few moments, Fred introduces Bill to LAPLINK PC MOVER WITH CABLE...

The most INGENIOUS program EVER created for PC users!

If you are planning on getting a new PC any time in the near future - LapLink PC Mover is AN ABSOLUTE MUST-HAVE! If you're buying a new computer with Windows 7 on it - it's even MORE important that you have this! Here's why!

Move EVERYTHING From Your Old PC to Your New One With EASE!

This awesome software lets you transfer everything - from your files to your software programs - onto your new computer. Most transfer cables only let you transfer over old files...but what about all of that IMPORTANT software that you've spent a FORTUNE on?

Moving files is simple - moving software is not. In fact, it's nearly impossible!

NOT ANYMORE!

When most software is installed, you get components and pieces of the software scattered all over your hard drive .

Manually finding every part and putting it back on a new computer, placed where it should be and registered with Windows is almost impossible.

UPGRADING FROM XP TO 7? WANNA KEEP ALL FILES AND SOFTWARE? READ ON!

This is the ONLY program on the planet that allows you to do an upgrade from XP to Windows 7 while keeping ALL of your files and software!

Why? Because for some reason, Microsoft will NOT support a direct upgrade path to Win7 from XP. You can buy it, but once you install it - you're in for a nasty surprise! You'll be told that ALL of your software is now gone, and that it'll try to relocate it. It can't. Hope you backed everything up..

That's right - if you're using XP (and some versions of Vista) the "upgrade" to Windows 7 will DUMP ALL YOUR SOFTWARE!!!

GUESS WHAT? This is the ONLY software that solves that HORRIBLE problem!

Everything will be there when you've finished, and all of your data will be where it should be! LapLink PC Mover is like a MIRACLE!

The Test Results BLEW US AWAY!

Before we get started on a test run for you, just know this: all you need to know in order to successfully run this program is....how to click your mouse!

Step 1: install the software on both PC's

VERY EASY! Now just attach them with the INCLUDED USB cable. SIMPLE!

Ready to start making decisions? Go ahead! Exclude any files you don't want to keep. Wanna keep all of your data file folders? Leave the check marks in the little boxes, and they'll be kept!

Step 2: Let LapLink scan and find ALL of your old software!

When it's done, it'll give you a list with check boxes - leave checks in the ones you want to transfer over to your new PC. It's THAT EASY! Being able to select only the programs you want to transfer is AMAZING!

Oh, it even tells you when you already have the same software on your new PC (this program will not overwrite existing files, so you don't need to worry about data loss).

Step 3: Walk away and let LapLink do it's thing!

Once you've selected everything you want transferred over, your job is done! Now LapLink will AUTOMATICALLY transfer EVERYTHING you asked it to!

This obviously takes some time - especially if you're transferring large amounts of date. No big deal! The easiest solution is to let it run over night - when you get up in the morning, your new computer will be decked out and ready to go!

IT'S LIKE CHRISTMAS!

NOT PLANNING ON GETTING A NEW PC TODAY? YOU STILL NEED THIS!

The software is upgradable to the newest version whenever you decide to make the switch! So, if you're planning on a new PC anytime in the future, grab this title now and stick it on your shelf!

If PC Answers Magazine says it's awesome...IT IS!

"Instead of messing around with program installation and data copying , PCmover is the ideal tool for anyone making the change to a new PC."
PC Answers Magazine

READY TO BE BLOWN AWAY? CHECK THE PRICE!

You're not going to find this for anywhere less than 60-80 bucks anywhere...except at Worldstart!

For today only, this BRILLIANT program can be yours for just $16.97 with FREE US SHIPPING!

http://store.worldstart.com/product/3897

PS: Remember, you can get this software now, while it's still available, and not buy your new PC until next year...or how ever long you want - and this program will automatically upgrade itself to the newest version when you install it. How sweet!

Computers 101

Jake from New York asks:

I am a budding author – is there any hope I’ll ever get a book published?

It’s time to dust down that copy of “Stephen King’s 1,000 best tips for horror writing” and start tuning in to your inner voice, because the words you write could be the latest thing that’s gripping everyone by the pool next summer.  Gone are the days that meant you had to get your beloved, original piece of fiction about alternative-lifestyle vampire fairies proof read and then edited by a giant publishing company.  Now you can be the publisher! All you have to do is head over to kindle direct publishing, allowing you to cut out the middle man for good and get your story out there yourself.

Just go here and click the sign up button that refers to you (based on whether you already have an amazon account or not.)  In the next page bang your details in and follow the rest of the steps for sign up.

It’s really important that when the Terms and Conditions pop up that you actually read them!  I know this a fairly radical concept – usually, I don’t even read “Te—“ (of Terms and Conditions) before clicking “Agree” as fast as possible.  In this instance, however, it is mightily important that you read it.  There are all sorts of funny little legal tit bits regarding where your work will be sold and how much the royalties are worth depending on the country in which it is sold.  I know you haven’t had a best seller, yet – but let’s just assume you will! You wouldn’t want to get a nasty surprise later on.

Now let’s get publishing!  Click the “Add new title” button on the top left and then bash in your book details in the next page.

You’ll have to choose categories so that your work can be found by the right people, so it might be a good idea to take a few minutes to think about this – you don’t want a romantic love story to crop up when a “trekkie” is looking for a science fiction epic – your story wouldn’t get sold!  Don’t forget to add a detailed description of your work and upload a cool picture, as this will be the first thing potential book sniffers will see.

Upload the book file when you’re happy with all of the information and then click “Save and Continue.”  The next few pages are fairly straightforward, just make sure to read around the royalty pricing structures before deciding how much to take.

Congratulations you’re a publisher and an author, time for the royalties to roll in……better put the kettle on, it may take a while.

OpenOffice.org Writer: Use Your Keyboard to Create a Table

We’ve previously discussed using the Table menu to add tables to your Writer documents, but today I’d like to share with you how you can accomplish the same thing without ever taking your hands from the keyboard.

All it takes is a little plus and minus to get the job done… literally!

You can layout the number of columns and width of each with a simple series of plus (+) and minus (-) signs.

Use the plus sign to indicate where Writer should place a left / right side of a cell in the table and minus signs between them to indicate the cell width.

Tip of the Day

Gina asks:

I really like the look of a clean desktop. I don’t ever keep anything on it except the Internet Explorer icon, Recycle Bin, My Documents, and My Computer. It would be nice to not have any text under each icon. Can this even be done?

First of all, kudos to you, Gina, for having such a clean desktop! I have a terrible habit of shortcutting a lot of web pages (sending them to the desktop) and if I took the text off the icons…well, pick an icon, any icon, and let’s guess which page this is!

And the answer to your question is yes, it can be done! Here’s how.

First, right-click on the icon from which you would like to hide the text and click on Rename.

Today's Feature

SharePod

Do you ever get frustrated because it seems like your iPod is “tied” to the computer that you sync it with? I know I do! I mean, you can’t add, delete, or download music and videos from an iPod unless it is plugged into your very own computer. If you are using a work, school, or public computer, it won’t recognize your iPod when you connect it. It seems like you’re outta luck… or are you?

I discovered this great freeware program called SharePod that finally lets your iPod off its leash! Once you run it (no installation needed), it acts as a mini-iTunes program. You can play, edit, add, and delete music, videos, and playlists from any computer in the world. That’s not all; it can also act as an iPod backup utility. After you try it out, you’ll wonder how you ever used your iPod without it! Let’s give it a spin now!

Fall Foliage Cams

Fall is by far and away my favorite season. I love the way the leaves change color, the smell of them when they’re ready to fall off the trees, and the crunch of them beneath my feet. I love the way the sunlight changes and seems to supersaturate everything it touches with color.  I love breaking out my boots and a sweater to tromp through the forested areas of our local metro park.

With how much I love Fall, I couldn’t believe my luck when I found these Fall Foliage Cams! You’ll find cams from the West Coast, the East Coast, and the Midwest!

You can browse them by clicking on the name of the State you want to check out, or you can select one of the featured cams on the main page, or you can go through the cams via the Next button at the bottom of the page.

Once you’ve picked a cam, and clicked on it – it should open up in a separate window or tab. I think that is awesome because then I can go right back to where I was in the listing and continue browsing the other cams.

What are you waiting for? Go check out all that glorious Fall Foliage today!

Retractable Back-Up Power Cord if Your Batteries Die!

Ergonomic 3 Button Design...

Your Batteries Will Last FOREVER!

Sick and tired of all those pesky wires on your desktop? Me too!

Well, grab this mouse today and help unclutter that rat's nest of wires! You'll wonder why you kept that old, annoying wired mouse for so long!

You know what the number one problem is with wireless mice? The stupid batteries ALWAYS die at the worst possible time! I hate that! Having a wireless mouse is fantastic, until it's late, you need to finish something up, your mouse is belly-up, and there's no "AA" batteries to be found.

Well, these guys thought of that and created a backup plan - this has a retractable USB cord that you can plug in!

You read that right! Next time your batteries die, just pull out the retractable cable and plug into any free USB port and get right back at it!

FINALLY - someone designed a wireless mouse with a brilliant backup plan! When you get new batteries, just retract the cord and you'll never know it's there!

With that said, the above problem is gonna be rare for you because this guy is a big-time battery saver! When this mouse is not in use, it will actually turn off, saving you tons of battery juice! Replacing the batteries will no longer be a weekly ordeal - these batteries will last you a LONG time!

In addition, this mouse uses amazing optical technology!

You know what I hate about regular "ball" mice- they collect dirt and dust. Do you remember always having to dig out a Q-tip, take apart the mouse, and delicately clean out that area so it would "roll" correctly? DO you still do that?? Not with this guy - no cleaning necessary!

Now so far this mouse is sounding pretty awesome- but you gotta check this out too! This mouse has a fantastic three button design with a scroll wheel that acts as the third button!
This type of design really provides the fastest, most proficient navigating ever! It's like driving a Lamborghini down the information super highway!

Plus, this mouse is extremely comfortable on your hand! You'll be able to use it for hours and never have to worry about your hand cramping or being uncomfortable!

Oh, and talk about great quality! It feels solid in your hand like it was really built to last! I like it so much I replaced my Logitech mouse with it - I absolutely love the quality and the optional cord has been a life-saver! Wait till you get your hand on it :-)

Think setting up a new mouse is going to be a pain? With this mouse you have absolutely nothing to worry about because it is truly plug and play. There is nothing to install! Just make sure the mouse has two working AA batteries, plug in the USB receiver, and you are all set! It really couldn't get more easy!

And your cost is unbeatable! Get this sweet mouse for just $15.97 and US shipping is FREE! Try it for a few days and you'll agree it's worth 3X that much! Hey, and if you don't love it, send it back to me within 2 months and I'll give you a refund! Nothing to lose - treat yourself to this amazing mouse today!
